The Chudleys Gundog Championship has been a firm favourite at all of the Countryman Fairs events for many years, and with the competition now underway, we can’t wait to see all the action unfold at the remaining events coming soon.

Back by popular demand, hopefuls taking part in this year’s Chudleys Gundog Championship can showcase their talents in some amazing trials and challenges. Sponsored by Chudleys Dog Food, the Championship has a range of exciting scurries and a Working Test that will really put competitors through their paces. From the Up ‘n’ Over, Long Retrieve, Short Fence, Duck Distraction and Pick ‘n’ Mix, the Scurries are a great place to pit your gundogs against the clock. For those wanting to try a timed, simulated shoot, the Working Test offers the perfect challenge.

Encouraging the next generation of handlers, the Chudleys Junior competition also returns to Countryman Fairs events this season. Young, dynamic and full of enthusiasm, the Junior Championship has uncovered some very promising handlers over the years and with the all-new Working Test added to the Championship this season, Countryman Fairs aims to recognise and nurture potential. The Chudleys Junior Gundog Championship is a competition that delivers on every level for the next generation of gundog scurry and working test handlers.

So, who will be victorious this 2019 season? With both the Chudleys Gundog Championship and Junior Championship titles up for grabs, the gundog displays promise some spectacular viewing. Qualifiers from all of the Countryman Fairs events will then go head to head with other finalists at the Midland Game Fair’s Grand Final in September, with the titleholder awarded £2,000 cash, an engraved trophy and rosette.

Countryman Fairs organise five award-winning events across the UK throughout the year, each showcasing the very best in country life.
